The planning department is responsible for administering policies and regulations governing use of private property.  This includes zoning, subdivision, signs, design review, environmental management, shorelines, in addition to longer term projects such as the Town’s Comprehensive Plan and historic preservation.  In addition, staff works closely with the Planning Commission and Design Review Board, providing support in their respective areas of responsibility.
